The meeting will be held in the town of Keszthely, next to the Lake Balaton, from 12th June (arrival) to 17th June (departure). The lectures and the accomodation will be in the same place, in Hotel Helikon. Details about the venue can be found on its website. Note that hotel reservation for each participant is arranged by the organizers according to the individual arrival and departure dates given in the registration form.
Travel
There are several ways to get to the venue. Here we only list couple of them:
- Surely it is the most convenient to reach Keszthely via the local airport of Sármellék (airport code is SOB). As late January 2011 there is limited information available on schedules, but it looks like Lufthansa is willing to start flights by 16th April 2011. For more details contact your local travel agency. From there the venue can be approached by taking a taxi, since this airport is only 13 km far from Keszthely.
- One can arrive at the Budapest Airport (BUD), which is about 200 km far from the venue. We arrange the airport transfer (minibus service) for the participants arriving to and leaving from Budapest if they give the time of arrival and departure in the registration form. The airport transfer costs about EUR 50 (there and back) depending on the number of people would like to use this service.
- As alternatives one can arrive at the airports of Wien (AUT), Graz (AUT) or Maribor (SLO). These destinations are within reasonable distance to Keszthely. On demand we arrange (or recommend) the airport transfer. Cooperation of more participants could result in lower transfer costs.
- If you arrive at Budapest airport and wish to organize the Budapest-Keszthely travel yourself, the online schedules of the Hungarian railway and coach companies may be useful. Below we provide a map which may help you to get to Hotel Helikon from Keszthely railway station, which takes about ten minutes on foot.
